Figures given are the sum of daily/nightly totals and may include some duplication of individuals.  However, figures include observations involving only minimum estimates of numbers thus may be conservative.  Data were compiled from the MothsIreland and Butterfly Conservation Northern Ireland databases; available online sources, including the MothsIreland newsgroup; published sources (including Atropos ‘coastal reports’); personal contacts; and records via email from individuals or online newsgroups.  

 

V = Moth species for which photographic or specimen evidence is required for acceptance by both the Moths Ireland Validation Committee and the Northern Ireland Lepidoptera Records Committee (NILRC). 

 

N = Further species for which the NILRC requires substantiating evidence.
