HELVICK HEAD:  GREAT SHEARWATER & Balearic Shearwater W, 27 Puffins & a Great Skua (seawatches 13:45-14:30 & 17:00-18:10).
FERRY POINT:  3 Common Sandpipers.
 
Tues 30 July:
GREAT NEWTOWN HEAD:  Bottlenose Dolphin.
 
Mon 29 July:
DUNGARVAN:  2nd-summer Mediterranean Gull at Ballyneety.
ARDMORE:  Adult Mediterranean Gull at Ballinclamper.
 
Sat 27 July:
MT CONGREVE:  2 Comma butterflies along railway track.
 
Thurs 25 July:
MT CONGREVE:  Comma butterfly along railway track.
RAM HEAD:  Total of 72 Kittiwake chicks in study plots which held 105 occupied nests on 17 June - a big improvement over 2012 (when only 2 chick on same date from 117 nests in June).
 
Weds 24 July:
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  2 Arctic Skuas & 2 Common Scoter E, 177 Manx Shearwaters W (80 E) (seawatch 06:30-08:15).
ARDMORE:  4 Mediterranean Gulls (3 at Curragh. adult-summer at Cliff Hotel).
 
Mon 22 July:
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  SPOONBILL again at Lisselan.
BUNMAHON:  2 Green Sandpipers & a Common Sandpiper.
BALLYVOYLE COVE:  2 adult Mediterranean Gulls.
CLONEA STRAND:  4 Mediterranean Gulls (2nd-summer & 3 adults) & 3 Common Sandpipers at Ballinclamper.
 
Sun 21 July:
RAM HEAD:  11 Great Skuas & 560 Manx Shearwaters E, 58 Common Scoter W (seawatch 06:45-09:45).
WEST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
DUNGARVAN:  Adult Yellow-legged Gull at Ballyneety bridge, ault Mediterranean Gull at the Lookout.
CLONEA STRAND:  6 Mediterranean Gulls (3 adult, 2 2nd-0summer & 1 1st-summer) at Ballinclamper.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  50+ Swifts feeding over Lisselan.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD: 2 Great Skuas W, 4 Mediterranean Gulls (adult feeding, juvenile & 2 adults W), 7 Puffins W (1 E), 62 Common Scoter W (11 E) & 460 Manx Shearwaters E (seawatch 06:40-09:40).
 
Sat 20 July:
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  SPOONBILL again at racecourse lake, Lisselan (video), also a Tufted Duck & Reed Warbler singing at Lisselan (new site).
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Calamotropha paludella (a bulrush-dwelling pyralid moth) trapped overnight - new to Ireland, subject to confirmation.
GARRARUS:  Flock of 67 Choughs, & 100+ Pied Wagtails.
DUNGARVAN:  9 Common Sandpipers at Ballyneety.
HELVICK:  2nd-summer Glaucous Gull.
BALLYMACART:  Flock of 27+ Choughs & an immature Dipper.
WHITING BAY:  Tree Sparrow & Common Sandpiper at west end.
 
Fri 19 July:
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  SPOONBILL at racecourse lake, Lisselan, then flushed by cattle and flew high & north, also 2 Common Sandpipers & an Emperor dragonfly at Lisselan.
 
Weds 17 July:
BUNMAHON:  2 Reed Warblers singing, Green Sandpiper & 2 Common Sandpipers.
DUNGARVAN:  Green Sandpiper & 3 Common Sandpipers at Ballyneety.
ARDMORE:  3 Mediterranean Gulls at Curragh.
RAM HEAD:  20 Common Scoter & 2 Sunfish.
KNOCKBRACK QUARRY (nr Clashmore):  3 Emperor dragonflies.
 
Tues 16 July:
BUNMAHON:  2 Reed Warblers singing.
 
Mon 15 July:
BUNMAHON:  Reed Warbler singing (new site).
 
Sun 14 July:
ARDMORE:  Nestling or fledgling Cuckoo from Dunnock nest.
HELVICK:  2nd-summer Glaucous Gull still present.
WEST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
 
Fri 12 July:
Nr DUNGARVAN:  Long-eared Owl.
DUNGARVAN:  6 Common Sandpipers & a male Tufted Duck at Ballyneety.
CARRIGAVRANTRY:  Common Sandpiper.
 
Thurs 11 July:
CARRIGAVRANTRY:  HOBBY.
ARDMORE:  Adult Mediterranean Gull at Curragh.
EAST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
 
Weds 10 July:
CLONEA STRAND:  Adult Mediterranean Gull at Ballinclamper.
 
Tues 9 July:
Nr ARDMORE:  Adult-summer BONAPARTE'S GULL flew east between Whiting Bay & Ardmore - 3rd county record.
DUNGARVAN:  3 Mediterranean Gulls (adult opposite Fraher field, adult & 2nd-summer at Barnawee), 6 Common Sandpipers at Ballyneety.
WATERFORD CITY:  2 Common Terns hawking with 200+ Black-headed Gulls & 200+ Sswifts over Francis Street.
 
Mon 8 July:
WATERFORD CITY:  Roof-nesting Herring Gull with at least one chick at Ballybricken (first City record?).
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  Mediterranean Gull & 4 Common Sandpipers at Lisselan.
 
Sat 6 July:
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  2 Tree Sparrows.
COMERAGH MOUNTAINS:  Dipper & 30+ Wheatears (70% juvenile).
DROMANA FOREST (nr Villierstown):  Crossbill, Treecreeper & 3 Jays.
 
Fri 5 July:
IDA Park (nr Waterford city):  Treecreeper.
TALLOW:  Spotted Flycatcher pair.
 
Weds 3 July:
EAST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
 
Tues 2 July:
DUNGARVAN:  Kingfisher & Common Sandpiper at Ballyneety.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:   Puffin & 290 Manx Shearwaters W (seawatch 08:00-09:00).
