BALLYSHUNNOCK RESERVOIR:  Male RING-NECKED DUCK still present.
DUNGARVAN:  SPOONBILL at the Cunnigar, Green Sandpiper nr Killongford pools, 100+ Hooded Crows at Ballyneety.
KILMEADEN:  Jay.
 
Weds 30 Oct:
RAM HEAD:  Swallow.
 
Tues 29 Oct:
DUNGARVAN:  SPOONBILL off pitch & putt course.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  Scaup & 5 Gadwall at Lisselan.
WATERFORD CITY:  3 Swallows.
EAST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
 
Mon 28 Oct:
BALLYSHUNNOCK RESERVOIR:  Male RING-NECKED DUCK. DUNGARVAN:  SPOONBILL & 2 Shoveler off pitch & putt course.
ARDMORE:  3 Black Redstarts at Dysert, Mediterranean Gull at Curragh.
HELVICK HEAD:  Merlin & 6 Chiffchaffs.
CLONEA:  Willow Warbler at Ballinard.
STRADBALLY:  Treecreeper at Woodhouse estate.
SEAFIELD (nr Bunmahon):  Green Sandpiper & 2 Swallows.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  Scaup & Merlin.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Willow Warbler & 2 Blackcaps.
 
Sun 27 Oct:
BALLYSHUNNOCK RESERVOIR:  Male RING-NECKED DUCK (video) still present, also 3 Scaup, Shoveler, Gadwall, 12 Whooper Swans & Merlin.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  Scaup & Wheatear at Lisselan.
KNOCKMEALDOWN MOUNTAINS:  >30 Crossbills on Co Tipperary side.
 
Sat 26 Oct:
BALLYSHUNNOCK RESERVOIR:  Male RING-NECKED DUCK, 3 Scaup, Kingfisher & 5 Whooper Swans.
HELVICK HEAD:  Juvenile SABINE'S GULL, 4+ Great Skuas & 7 Common Scoter W (seawatch 09:45-10:45); Merlin & 4 Blackcaps.
DUNGARVAN:  YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER at Ballynagaul, Ring; Merlin at Ballyneety.
CLONEA:  Merlin & Great Northern Diver at Ballinclamper.
KNOCKMEALDOWN MOUNTAINS:  Flock of 27 Crossbills on Co Tipperary side.
WATERFORD CITY:  2 Kingfishers on St John's River.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Arctic Skua W & Porpoise (seawatch 14:10-16:10); Merlin.
 
Fri 25 Oct:
BALLYSHUNNOCK RESERVOIR:  Male RING-NECKED DUCK, 3 Scaup, Ruff & 5 Whooper Swans.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD: YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER (probably new bird) & Merlin.
KNOCKMEALDOWN MOUNTAINS (Co Tipperary): 8 Crossbills at Tipperary side.
EAST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
 
Thurs 24 Oct:
WATERFORD CITY:  Jackdaw showing characteristics of one of the eastern/Nordic races at hospital roundabout, Ardkeen.
TRAMORE:  Adult Mediterranean Gull at boating lake.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  4+ Tree Sparrows.
 
Weds 23 Oct:
HELVICK HEAD: RED-BREASTED FLYCATCHER still present.
ARDMORE:  4 Mediterranean Gulls at Curragh strand including colour-ringed 'E713'.
BALLYMACART LOWER:  2 Dippers.
OLD PARISH:  3 Swallows.
DUNGARVAN:  Kingfisher at Killongford pools.
CLONEA:  Merlin at Ballinclamper.
BALLYVOONEY:  2 Fin Whales & 2 Porpoises.
WEST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
 
Tues 22 Oct:
HELVICK HEAD: RED-BREASTED FLYCATCHER, Merlin & 2 Blackcaps.
DUNGARVAN:  Adult Mediterranean Gull at Barnawee.
AT SEA:  14 Great Skuas & 4 Arctic Skuas from R.V. Celtic Explorer off Co Waterford.
 
Mon 21 Oct:
HELVICK HEAD:  RED-BREASTED FLYCATCHER & Merlin.
 
Sun 20 Oct:
HELVICK HEAD:  1st-winter RED-BREASTED FLYCATCHER still present (video).
WHITING BAY:  Merlin & Wheatear.
DUNGARVAN:  Green Sandpiper at Ballyneety.
CLONEA:  White Wagtail at Ballinclamper.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER & Blackcap.
 
Sat 19 Oct:
HELVICK HEAD:  1st-winter RED-BREASTED FLYCATCHER (4th county record), YELLOW-BROWED WARBLERReed Warbler, Black Redstart, 6 Blackcaps, Willow Warbler & a Hummingbird Hawk-moth.
CARRIGNAGOUR (nr Lismore):  6 Crossbills in garden (also 15 at Co Tipperary side of the Vee).
ARDMORE:  6 Mediterranean Gulls (1st-winter & 5 adults) at Curragh beach.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  YELLOW-BROWED WARBLERBlack Redstart, 2 Tree Sparrows, Willow Warbler & a Hummingbird Hawk-moth.
 
Fri 18 Oct:
WEST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
GREAT NEWTOWN HEAD:  Large shearwater species W.
 
Thurs 17 Oct:
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Merlin, White Wagtail, 4 Tree Sparrows, Blackcap, 5 Chiffchaff & 5 Redwings.
BALLYNACOURTY POINT:  Merlin.
 
Weds 16 Oct:
ARDMORE:  15+ Mediterranean Gulls at Curragh.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  3 Tree Sparrows, 3 Blackcaps, 5 Chiffchaffs & 4 Redwings.
 
Tues 15 Oct:
HELVICK HEAD:  HOBBY.
CLONEA:  2 Mediterranean Gulls (adult & 1st-winter) at Ballinclamper.
ANNESTOWN:  Kingfisher.
AT SEA:  Storm Petrel & 36 Great Skuas from R.V. Celtic Explorer, south of Tramore in the Celtic Sea.
 
Mon 14 Oct:
AT SEA:  25 Great Skuas, a Fin Whale & several Common Dolphins from R.V. Celtic Explorer, south of Waterford in the Celtic Sea.
KILMEADEN POOLS:  Juvenile Curlew Sandpiper.
KNOCKADERRY RESERVOIR:  Male Shoveler.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  8 Tree Sparrows.
EAST WATERFORD:  2 Buzzards.
 
Sun 13 Oct:
AT SEA (Cork/Waterford border): 39 Great Skuas & 2 Arctic Skuas from R.V. Celtic Explorer, south of Youghal in the Celtic Sea, also a juvenile Storm Petrel found onboard last night & released successfully this morning.
CARRIGNAGOUR (nr Lismore):  >100 Redwing.
WEST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
GREAT NEWTOWN HEAD:  6 Black Guillemots & 30 Swallow.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  Merlin, 5 Wheatears & 120+ Swallows.
 
Sat 12 Oct:
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Fieldfare (1st autumn report) & 8+ Tree Sparrows.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  483 Brent Geese, 6 Shoveler, 500+ Wigeon, 118 Ringed Plover, 40 Sanderling & 6 Wheatears.
BUNMAHON:  Merlin.
CLONEA:  Yellow Wagtail, Otter & Common Seal at Ballinclamper.
DUNGARVAN:  Female Common Scoter off Gold Coast hotel.
 
Fri 11 Oct:
DUNGARVAN:  YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER at Abbeyside Park.
BALLYSCANLAN:  Jay.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  12 Shoveler, 3 Gadwall, 3 Tufted Duck, 145 Brent Geese & a Kingfisher at Lisselan.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Redwing (1st autumn report), 4 Siskins, 8 Redpolls & 15 Tree Sparrows.
 
Thurs 10 Oct:
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER, Merlin, female / immature Hen Harrier & 2 White Wagtails.
PORTALLY:  Merlin, Blackcap, Clouded Yellow butterfly & 66 Red Admirals.
BALLYMACAW:  Tree Sparrow with 75 House Sparrows.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  153 Brent Geese.
EAST WATERFORD:  Buzzard.
DUNGARVAN:  2 Whooper Swans E then W over town centre.
 
Weds 9 Oct:
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER, Merlin, 28+ Tree Sparrows, 4 Blackcaps, 8+ Redpolls, a Clouded Yellow butterfly, & a Delicate moth (light-trapped).
DUNGARVAN:  30 House Martins & 128 Brent Geese at Abbeyside.
 
Mon 7 Oct:
WHITING BAY:  Adult Mediterranean Gull.
TRAMORE BACKSTRAND:  11 Shoveler at Lisselan.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Arctic Skua W & Great Skua (seawatch 09:35-10:35) & 3 Tree Sparrows; 2 Delicate moths light-trapped.
 
Sun 6 Oct:
DUNGARVAN:  OSPREY again over town & HOOPOE at River Lane estate.
TRAMORE TOWN:  2 White-speck light-trapped.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Red-throated Diver W & 6 Tree Sparrows; 2 Delicate moths light-trapped & a White-speck at ivy.
DUNMORE EAST:  Purple Sandpiper.
 
Sat 5 Oct:
DUNGARVAN:  OSPREY over town, HOOPOE still at River Lane estate, Abbeyside.
CLONEA:  Pied Flycatcher at Balinclamper.
RAM HEAD:  2 Pomarine Skuas, 6 Common Scoter & 5 Porpoises (seawatch 08:35-11:05).
TRAMORE:  2 Clouded Yellow butterflies at the sandhills.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  23 Wheatears, 5 Blackcaps, Spotted Flycatchers, 3 Tree Sparrows & 12 Ravens; Balearic Shearwater, Great Skua, Red-throated Diver & 375 Meadow Pipits W, 11 Common Scoter W (3 E), 2 Porpoises & 3 Common Dolphins (seawatch 0835-1135).
 
Fri 4 Oct:
DUNGARVAN:  HOOPOE still at River Lane estate, Abbeyside (video).
GREAT NEWTOWN HEAD:  3 Palpita vitrealis light-trapped, 7 Vestal moths & 5 Clouded Yellow butterflies by day, also 2 Vestal at Newtown Cove.
BROWNSTOWN HEAD:  Short-eared Owl (video), White Wagtail, 4 Spotted Flycatchers, 40+ Chiffchaffs, 3 Willow Warblers, 2 Blackcaps, Whitethroat, 7 Wheatears, 7 Goldcrests & 3 Tree Sparrows; migrant moths light-trapped included a Vestal & 2 Delicate.
 
Thurs 3 Oct:
DUNGARVAN:  HOOPOE at River Lane housing estate.
HELVICK HEAD:  Whinchat, Reed Warbler, Whitethroat & Great Northeren Diver.
TRAMORE TOWN:  Migrant moths light-trapped included 14 Palpita vitrealis, 2 Gem, a Delicate & a Vestal.
 
Weds 2 Oct:
BALLYVOYLE COVE:  Adult Mediterranean Gull.
 
Tues 1 Oct:
DUNGARVAN:  HOOPOE at River Lane housing estate.
HELVICK: Spotted Flycatchers, 3 Chiffchaffs, Willow Warbler & Wheatear.
